Making great things possible

Day of Caring volunteersFair Tide welcomed eight Lonza Biologics employees to our Wentworth Street transitional housing property in Kittery for the United Way’s spring Day of Caring on Wednesday May 12th.

Working tirelessly from early morning to afternoon, the volunteers organized and cleaned out the barn and sheds, weeded the vegetable garden, mowed and raked the lawn, painted the front and back doors, built raised garden beds and erected fencing, installed swings on the children’s play set, and made seven dump runs.

“Volunteer labor makes a big impact. Estimated to be valued at around $20.85 per hour, the volunteer’s efforts saved Fair Tide the expense of hiring out the work, or in monetary terms, nearly $1,100. Add that to the wonderful friendships that were made and a day of great fun and it was priceless.” - Joe Galli, Fair Tide's Executive Director

Our new friends from Lonza Biologics are Christina Bassett, Gay Boutin, Theresa Brown, Carolyn Hanley, Kenney Neergaard, Jeff O’ Connor, Heather Palmer and Jeff Tomaselli, and Kelly Wilsey from the United Way of the Greater Seacoast.United Way of the Greater Seacoast
