“Maine Steiners to perform benefit concert for Fair Tide”

Kittery, Maine—5/17/12–The Maine Steiners, the University of Maine’s premier all-male a’capella group, will perform at the Second Christian Congregational United Church of Christ in Kittery on Tuesday 5/29 at 7:30 pm.

While the event is free to the public, a free-will offering will benefit Fair Tide. Founded in 1998, Fair Tide is a prevention program that combines safe, affordable housing with comprehensive supportive services to keep people safe as they gain the necessary skills to obtain and maintain permanent housing.

Founded in 1957, the Maine Steiners are the University’s oldest a’capella group. In addition to classic male a’capella, including several “barber shop” style arrangements, the Maine Steiners are noted for performing many popular hits from the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s.
