“About Face Studio Salon to sponsor Fair Tide in August”
Kittery, Maine—August 3, 2012—As part of its ongoing Business Sponsorship program, About Face Studio Salon has been named sponsor ofthe month for The Fair Tide Thrift Store in August.
Designed to raise community awareness about homelessness andFair Tide’s transitional housing program, the program also serves to establishand enhance meaningful relationships with local businesses.
Expressing excitement at the opportunity to partner with Fair Tide, About Face Studio Salon Owner Kathryn Garra said they provide transitional housing program participants with a variety of services, including hair, make-up and professional advice about skincare.
“We’re hoping something like this can help them look their best for job interviews and thinks like that,” said Garra, who noted business partner Jan Cushing is equally excited about the collaboration. “We’re hoping to help residents feel better and more positive about themselves.”
Citing her appreciation for the new partnership with the salon, Fair Tide’s Barbara McGaughey said the Business Sponsorship programcontinues to generate critically needed additional revenue to support theAgency’s transitional housing program.
“Our sales are up and donations to the store have doubled in the past few months, which I believe is the direct result of these partnershipsand continued support by the wonderful local community,” she said. “The collaboration also helps new and established community businesses market their services to the greater community.”
A Wine and Cheese Social to announce the August partnership will take place at The Fair Tide Store on Tuesday, August 7th a t5:30 pm.
Founded in 1998, Fair Tide is a prevention program that combines safe, affordable housing with comprehensive supportive services tokeep people safe as they gain the necessary skills to obtain and maintainpermanent housing. Proceeds from the Thrift Store, which is open from 10am to5pm and located at 15 State Road in Kittery, directly support the Fair Tide program.
