About

The Fair Tide Thrift Store was born out of the housing program. Many local citizens donated furniture and household items to the first occupants of the Fair Tide house. The donations continued to pour in beyond the resident’s needs which prompted the founders to start a thrift store. In 2003, the Fair Tide Thrift Store opened its doors to the public and has been providing critical funding to the housing program ever since. All profits from the store go directly to supporting Fair Tide’s mission; however it has also grown to be an essential resource for the community at large.

Donations

Fair Tide’s thrift store relies solely on the generous in-kind donations from community members.  We accept donations during business hours. Donations can be received at the front desk by one of our staff.  Through donating to the thrift store you are helping further Fair Tide’s mission to support those who are less fortunate.
*Please see below for more info on items that we can & cannot accept

Volunteer

The Thrift store is run on a small part time staff and relies heavily on our volunteers in order to keep the store running smoothly. New volunteers are always welcome including those seeking community service hours.  Opportunities include merchandise preparation/placement, occasional early evening shifts to sort donations, organizing, cleaning, and more.

Tomorrow is the Business Park Zoning Workshop from Kittery Town Hall at the Kittery Community Center and STAR Theatre! Join the conversation about current land use, existing conditions, and options for future zoning possibilities!Join the Town of #Kittery for the Business Park Zoning Workshop on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Kittery Community Center and STAR Theatre. Kittery’s Business Park zone was created in the 1990’s to encourage office or industrial development on parcels that are served by utilities and easily accessed from major roadways. Subsequent development was limited, and large portions of the zone remain undeveloped. Market trends, environmental considerations, and community needs have evolved since then. The zone is a priority area for re-examination. 🔎The Town recently completed two studies to inform this effort, which include the Town of Kittery Market Study and the Hwy 236/Dennett Road Hydrological Study.✨ As an important next step, the Town is hosting the Business Park Workshop to provide an overview of the existing conditions, present options for future zoning and gather feedback from residents and property owners to inform next steps. ✨To learn more about the Business Park zoning, upcoming Workshop and how to provide YOUR input, please visit our website at the link below.www.kitteryme.gov/projects/news/business-park-zoning ...
